Conflicts, bad leaders bedevil some small states

The largest constraint on small nations is their geography. Island nations such as Sao Tome & Principe are isolated; Guinea Bissau’s location has made it ideal for drug trafficking; Swaziland is landlocked, and Djibouti suffers from a harsh climate and limited natural and human resources.
